And, figiting real crime is expensive. Not to mention dangerous..
In VT, the State Police are usually FAR too busy to sit on the interstate and harass motorists.. Unless they are running a special detail, it's usually a free for all.. Lending to the element of surprise when you DO happen upon a green crown vic in the median..

That sucks... probably due to your location.
I don't think I've ever heard of anyone getting pulled over for heavy tint in Florida. It's practically required in the summer. :-\

I got TWO tint tickets in CA... nothing else, just stopped for tint>
so yes... i understand the frustration
nothing better to do
the best was when i took the tint off... brought it to the station to get signed off and left with TWO tickets
yes, went in to get ONE signed... left with TWO - one for no front plate, one for cracked windshield
oh well.. it made a good story no?

screw UPS
I hate to say it but i work for Liberty Mutual and we insure UPS, so i would tell whoever you are dealing with that you are going to make a claim with your insurance and have them subrogate back to Liberty. Should clean up the issue right away.
As for UPS in general, i sent something across the country during a recent move from the midwest to the east coast, needless to say the box was held together by tape and not by structure. Good thing I paid for the insurance. What jamokes.

I think I've been spared being up here since October due to having a Florida Plate...
I live 1 mile from the local township police department and have them behind me routinely...
And I've got 15% all around...
man they'd love me...
I have to applaud you for being so direct with the trooper though. They sure do get the attitude that they can't be talked back to in any fashion and if you do it is somehow illegal.
You answered his questions politely and chose to ask him some of your own. Not that he is required to justify why he pulled you over for breaking a law, but at least you got him on record...
