Default cd changer screws

I just got the 6 disc cd changer from Clair and I'm wondering if the 4 screws are really necessary. I have a 99.5 and the changer fits pretty snuggly in the dedicated slot. It looks like I would have to take apart the trunk liner to put the screws in--and I'd rather not start with that mess if I don't have to. Any suggestions or advice would be appreciated.
CD may skip more w/o the screws, but give it a shot! -

Default I only used the 2 front mounting screws. Not one skip in 2k miles so far.

Default I installed one last week in my 99.5...

Bought the changer from Clair. Great service. I had no problems removing the rear trunk liner and then removing the entire tool/cd braket housing using an 8mm socket and a 3 inch extension. Once you get the housing out... all 4 screws go in nicely. Do it right. Put all 4 in.
