I have a 1999 A4 with the CD changer in the trunk. I removed the CD changer and want to run an audio input line to the front for an iPod . Has anyone done this ?

If you remove the changer you need some kind of interface to talk to the Audi head unit. You can't just feed audio to it.
Most of the ipod interfaces available allow you to install directly into the back of the head unit.
Dice, GROM and Blitzsafe units use socket I on the back of the Concert I head unit.
About 30 minutes work if you have radio removal tools.

I was going to use the feed from the CD changer to the radio and run an input up to the cabin. But, after looking at the wiring diagrams I am realizing that this is not going to work. I guess I will have to buy a unit to hook to the radio.
THanks much

Blitzsafe adapter is around $70. GROM is slightly more and better as it allows use of playlists. GROM also has option of Bluetooth music streaming which if your iPod supports it is nice.
