Default Changed plugs, now occasional misfire, suggestions?

I put the NGK BKR7E-11 plugs in my car ('97 1.8TQ, K04/GIAC) over the weekend, gapped to 0.034. Now if I get into the throttle hard under 4000 RPM, I'll get a misfire or two before the RPM's get up. I probably should change the gap, but I don't know what to change it to. Searching the archives is what led me to 0.034 (most popular from what I read) Suggestions welcome.

BTW: The plugs I took out (trying to address surging issues at WOT) were bosch 4-prong platinums, that my mechanic 'thinks' he put in when the K04 went in. I think they're probably 30K miles old. They looked fine.

Default What was the original gap of the BKR7E?

They're 1 heat range colder that stock right?

I think that Im going to give the BKR7E's a try, because im having some misfire issues with the Bosch plugs Im running right now.

Default There is the possibility you damaged the spark plug wires

You can run a VAG and determine which cylinder is miss-firing.

I think the original gap was at .032. I just measure to make sure they weren't bent and pop them in.

Default I'm thinking that .032 and .034 isn't much of a difference...

but I have several new sets of the plugs, so I can throw some in without re-gapping and see if it makes a difference.
