Had the system flushed maybe 6 months ago. Just looking to replace my leaking coolant expansion tank and top off what's missing. Is a flush really necessary?
And what water do I mix the coolant with, distilled water?
Thanks

Mix with distilled water as tap water has chemicals that can leave deposits in your cooling system.

How do you do it on AEB motor? The repair manual says to disconnect one of the lines that go to the heater core (just slide it out a bit) and a bleed hole will open. However, on my car the heater core lines are deep down below the firewall, - hard to get to from above. Is there an easier method?

on any engine, as long as the end of the tank hose remains above it's point of connection on the other end, bleeding would not be needed.
