Default Changing the rear brake pads

I have the whole caliper assb. off and the pads off. What tool do you use to spin the pistion back into the caliper. I tried to use a pair of needle nose pliers and it spins but the question is why dosen't the pistion go back into the caliper. Do you need to force it in as you spin the pistion. Pads are getting low someone please respond
thank you
Anthony

I had to let the dealer install my Mintex's on the rear.

Yes you do. You have to push and turn at the same time. It's a little tough with needle nose pliers, but people have done it. I have used a iniversal cube below

I use a regular c-clamp.
