Changing the thermostat on an AWM engine
So I did the waterpump and timing belt on my 2001 A4 1.8T AWM engine this weekend. I gave up on the thermostat. It seems like you should be able to pull the alternator and get it, but I could not figure it out.
How the heck do you do it?
Also....for those of you that have done the timing belt on an AWM, were you able to pull the radiator and then move the lock carriage out of the way? Or did you have to leave the radiator in and just pull the lock carriage front 6"?
