Default Check Engine Light

I have a '99 A4 1.8T with about 102,000 miles. On my way home, the engine began to run rough (especially when idling), and I noticed the check engine light was blinking. Limped the car to the dealership. On the way, the check engine light stopped blinking and just remained on and the engine was no longer running rough. Left the car at the dealership to be checked out. Didn't want to run the risk of damaging the cat converter or anything else for that matter. Has this happened to anyone else?

Default thats kind of vague

That happens to lots of people (going into limp mode). It's hard to say if anyone else has had your specific problem without the car being Vaged

Default Re: Did you recently almost run out of gas??

That's what I'm hoping for, bad gas. There was little more than 1/4 of tank, roughly 90+ miles till empty.

Default I would get it vaged....

but if you dont have access to one then I would fill up again after driving it a little....see if new "good" gas fixes it. If not then take it to a mechanic ASAP~!
