Default Check engine light came on...
The trip computer has been showing it's "in 1" service light for a while. On the way home tonight, the car (96 a4, 36k miles, 5spd, fwd) didn't seem to warm up aftera 15 mile drive home.. And, on a downshift, the check engine light came on. I stopped and 'rebooted' the car, but light kept on.

thoughts?

Default The car not reaching proper temp will cause a code...find a VAG and find out for sure..

I bet it's the engine temp sensor that is broken, happened to me 3 weeks ago !
