Child Seat
Hey Guys,
Wanted to get your opinion on child seats for the Audi A4.
We have the "bucket" type installed by our local fire department. With it rear facing, there isn't much leg room for the passenger due to the seat needing to be so far forward.
thanks in advance,
Rob

Rear facing seats in the A4 are very tight. The back seats simply are not very spacious.. Only once you get your child turned around front facing will you get your front passenger seat back. We struggled with it in our A4 sedan, the front passenger seat was all the way forward with the rear facing seats. The Avant is a little better because of the slightly roomier back seats, but nothing like the A6, which is why I ended up getting that car.

Than an A6? My brother and his wife have a Passat, it's roomy, but I didn't think it was any roomier than our A6.. Which year Passat are you referring to?
They're nice cars too, I like my bro's.. I think his is an 01.

You must be tiny. In our '96, with a basic rear facing seat, our passenger seat was all the way forward. Even with my Avant, it was most of the way forward.
Either that, or you've got that infant seat installed wrong. =)

I don't know whats a bucket type seat, can you fasten it in the middle of the rear seat? This is the only way we can get our rear facing Graco with base to work in the A4. Without base, forget it as there is no room when the child seat sits lower on the rear seats.
