Default To chip or not to chip?

I'm leasing my 01 A41.8t and am concerned about the factory finding it. I really don't feel like spending the extra $780 on a spare ecu for a car i'll trade in 2 years. Any advice would be appreciated.

Default buy a chip now, enjoy the hell out of it and as soon as your lease is up....

post to someone here that you want to sell it.

Default You can always sell the chipped ECU and return the car to stock at lease end.

Even if you had to eat the cost of the chip + ECU, it'd be worth it for what you'd get out of it for the next two years. The fact that you'll recoup most of the cost when it's all said and done, by selling the chipped ECU, makes it a no-brainer.
