CHIP Question... help!
I just bought a 2001 A4 1.8TQM and am planning on chipping my car but am having a hard time deciding between GIAC and APR. I know that the two have been compared to death and some like GIAC and others like APR. Can anyone who has driven both a GIAC and an APR describe each ones characteristics and how they are different?
Also I wanted to point out that for '00 and prior B5s APR produces more 6 HP higher than GIAC (206 APR vs. 195 to 200 for GIAC) But for '01 B5s APR produces 214 HP and GIAC produces +45 to +50 so between 215 HP to 220 HP. Would that mean that GIAC is a clear winner for my an '01 model?
Thanks in advance for everyones input!

Same stink, different source.
APR feels smoother, which as a result makes it feel slower.
GIAC feels much more aggressive, so it feels faster.
All things being equal one is not going to be noticeably faster than the other. Decide on feel, go find someone local, and use the archives.

Re: CHIP Question... help! Correction
I checked the GIAC website - The GIAC chip yields 35 to 40 HP for '01 and not 45 to 50 HP like it does for '00 and prior B5s... So no clear advantage there between APR & GIAC in terms of raw horses...
