Default How did you know you chipped it? Do you mean you ground gears when shifting? If so, it's the

synchro gears that took the beating, and unfortunately they have no healing properties so it will only get worst with time.

What kind of noise are you hearing?

Default I don't know if it is a chipped gear, and it wasn't due to grinding the gears AFAIK....

The noise has been on-going for some time, I had thought it was motor related. It is a clicking sound that increases w/rpm, but can only be heard under light acceleration and when next to a wall or cars. It does not appear in 2nd, nor in neutral. Tends to be about 1k-2K rpm. Kind of a diesel-like sound.

Until I just took it for a spin and noticed it was only in first gear. After STA for a bit I found some people had run into a chipped first gear w/the same symptons I have.

They say 1st gear has no synchro--- IIRC you may have to either pray it never stops or replace
