Clay bar....my first time using it, I have some questions:
OK - is this the correct order: clay bar first, then 3M hand glaze second, wax third?
I have the 3M clay bar, and it says to use 3M car soap as a lubricant for the clay bar. Can I use just any old car soap for this?

you should use a MORE concentrated solution, rather than less..
Soap won't hurt anything, and the car soap is actually what is making the lubrication more so than the water. More is better. 2x the soap you would normally use to wash is a good idea.
