Its time for me to clean my ICV. I have done it once before but I never figured out how to open and close the valve on the ICV to completely clean out the part. Anyone have any pointers?

I just squirted the carb cleaner down in mine and shook it around.
Here's a before pic, not bad for 169,625 miles.
This is the first time it has ever been cleaned.

I orginally cleaned my ICV with brake cleaner because it leaves no residue but it seems like others use carb cleaner. Should I clean it with carb cleaner this time?
