Default Cleaning Sludge and Carbon Deposits flooding engine wz Diesel

Hi to all, it's been a while; I am making this post before applying this one. I've been reading in other forums that you can clean sludge and carbon deposits from the engine with this technic. Basically drain the oil keep old oil filter, flood engine with diesel until it's a the top and let it sit over night(don't crank the engine of course =) next day drain and add cheapo oil and a cheapo filter and idle for 10 20 minutes, then drain and add the "Good Stuff". Some swear by this?
What say u about this; Works or Ludicrous?
Thanks

Default Ludicrous. Even Auto RX isn't *that* effective...

Personally I wouldn't try it.

Default It would work.........however

You need to leave it more than over night!!
Try 4-5 days.
Do the cheapo oil change idle for 10min
Change oil,
Repeat.......Diesel flooding, and let it sit for another 3days.......
Drain diesel,
Mod an old toothbrush, access the pick up screen through the oil drain plug....scrub and brush the bottom of the pick up screen
Now, use cheapo oil and filter, let it run for 20minutes......
Replace oil with cheapo......and now go for a long drive......
Last, replace with your Favorite syn oil&filter.
Remove valve cover, and take lots of pics and post them on AW uh.

Default What happens to the seals do?

If it seats with diesel for to long then the seals are toast right? i've heard only overnight since diesel is so corrosive, in fact looking at some products that supposly removes sludge and found out that "Gunk" is almost 100%diesel, with some additives. Let me know what your thoughts are?
Thanks =)

Default I used a 50/50 mix of dino oil and kerosene, then brought the engine up to temp.

Run the car 10, maybe 15 minutes (the warmer the engine is, the better), shut it off, drain it, 4 qts. oil/cheap filter, run for 20 minutes, drain. After that I filled with 4 more qts., cheapo filter and auto-rx.

There are many ways to go about it... depending on how aggressive/involved/timely you want the "treatment" to be.

Default

Seals will survive on Kero. Biodiesel is well recommended too.
