Are your bulbs on all the time or only when they blink?

FYI on Euro cars the front corner lamps are single filament and only illuminate w/ turn signal. On Euro cars the "parking lamp" circuit illuminates a separate, low wattage bulb in the headlamp assembly which is usually not present in US cars.

I think the white lights commonly used are annoying because they are too bright and just look lame and cheap. Simple blue lights are definitely illegal as they are reserved for law enforcement. According to California vehicle code (Sec 24953), the front turn signal may be amber or white; the side blinker must be amber. In many other localities (especially outside the US), all the turn signal indicators must flash amber in order to be street legal; this applies to the rear lamps too. In Europe where they are much stricter about enforcing such codes, there are aethestic solutions which are legal also. Newer OEM designs have an aluminized (chrome looking) hood over the front corner lamp bulb to hide it when off but allow full amber intensity (by reflection) when in use. An interesting new aftermarket product from Osram is the "Diadem" bulb. It appears pale blue when off to blend in with the clear look but shines amber when illuminated. I've only seen the Osram product in European magazines. I don't know if anyone is importing them to the US.

I installed hyper white bulbs in the clear corners that gives a blueish tint and looks great - especially with my daytime running lights. The amber bulbs in the side marker lights leave no doubt as to lane changes. I wouldn't have considered the clear bulbs if not for this factor. Anyway, it's a personal preference. I know alot of owners try to downgrade the A4's clean lines by tacking on rear wings, spoilers and ground effects - but to each his/her own.

They dont look dirty just dim, but when you turn on the blinker they flash white and brite.

I ended up leaving the amber bulb.. I didn't like the clear one that much.
