Hi, I have recently upgraded my center console on my A4 from 1998 to a model 2000 with Naviplus - this included upgrading my climatronic unit. All functions on my new climatronic unit works fine, EXCEPT the light in the climadisplay buttons, when I turn on the light switch no "red" lights appear as in the rest of the displays (radio, ashtray etc.) Does anyone have any suggestions - is this a common problem when upgrading the climatronic unit ? Your help or suggestions are very much appreciated. /Tom

Hi, I have tried to re-check the wires for the illumination - they seem to be OK. I also talked to my shop - they suggest it's because my car is a 1998 model without CAN and the Climatronic unit is a model 2000 (Illumination is CAN bus controlled)...hmmmm, big problem if that's true.

I read an article in a another forum where the problem was no light in an audi radio - problably the same problem - this was solved by running a wire inside the radio to connect the LEDs to the cars light switch - but I'm affraid I will burn the circuits if I try something simmilar !!

The connections are OK - Maybee It's a CANBUS problem ?? - my car does not have CANBUS !

I know this is a very old thread, but since i can't start a new one, i'll used mine.

I have a 1995 A4.. and i've fitted the 1999 central console.

Two problems:

1 - AC doesn't work
2 - Probably related do 1, but the heating system is type one/off. If i put temp in LOW it give a little cold, if i put 18.0 it's already hot.

The guy who made this mod, doesn't know yet how to fix this.

Can anyone help?
