Default clunking noise from front end of car??

I have a 2001 a4 2.8. whenever i drive over cracks or bumps in the road there is a clunking noise from the front end of the car.

Ok now everybody's first thought is going to be control arms...not the problem i have replaced them.

the noise seems to be originating from the passenger side of the car.

Could it be a wheel bearing that has gone out? or something like a trans or motor mount?

Any help would be greatly appreciated

Did you change the sway bar links?

Did you change all four control arms on that side?
Is the shock mount in good shape?

Most likely the sway bar bushings. $5 each. If it runs down the road and tracks well and is only going over bumps, I vote sway bar bushings. Had that in my 98A4

Funny that you mention the strut mount....I replaced it just yesterday and it was the problem.

I figured the strut itself was the last thing that could've been making noise

Thanks for the help guys
