Default Clutch diagnosis anyone?

On my way to work this morning, I was starting from a stoplight when my clutch all of a sudden crapped out on me. The symptoms are that the engagement point is now practically at the floor level instead of nearly at the top of pedal travel. Also, the pedal feels like it is fighting some resistance on the way down near the bottom (spongy). The car has 51K miles on it, and I do not abuse the clutch (riding it, high RPM launches).

Any ideas? Dealer says $2,300 if they have to do everything including the flywheel.

Default Dont pay that! people may laugh but bleed the clutch... it takes two seconds and it may help??

from what you said I assume the clutch still works somewhat so give it a try..

the bleed screw is up under the drive shaft on the side of the engine clutch. you will probably need a pressure bleeder also.
