Clutch gettin grabby
Anyone know what this is?:
(assume I'm an experienced driver who is good at smooth shifting. warm climate. '99.5 1.8T Quattro 5spd)
When shifting up from 2nd to 3rd, normal rpms normal gas, near the top of the clutch travel, the car jerks bad, forcing me to have to feather the clutch.
When slowing down in 2nd like in heavy traffic, when rpms get down to about 1800, car jerks bad. This is way more than normal.
Gas on/off in any gear there's a little clunk, so I assume I need a new snub mount.
2nd, possibly unrelated issue is a squeak in the clutch pedal travel, not due to pivots inside the footwell area, so probably something like master cyl or slave cyl.
I've done the normal clutch tests I know, 5th gear low rpms, give it gas, and it accelerates normally, no extra rpms.
Any advice appreciated!
