Default clutch help

Well my dealership denied me a warranty claim for a clutch replacement (no brainer) and I am going to upgrade to an APR stage 3 asap. Would a spec stage 2 clutch be fine to drive with just a chip/fmic/exhaust before the stg.3 install or would it be harsh? Secondly, would a spec stage 2 clutch hold the power or a stage 3 well? Finally, how many miles need to be allocated to the break in period of a clutch like the spec stage 2? Thanks for the help.

Default the stage 2 clutch will hold the power just fine...

it's not harsh at all. I drove a few A4s with spec stage 3 clutch and it's very easy to engage.

I have a stock clutch with 52000miles and mine's still holding up...even with the 100 programming.

Default will a spec stg. 3 be ok to drive w/my current setup?

(ie.) will it chatter or is that just associated with a lw flywheel? I've heard complaints of chatter a person without a lw fw that is why i'm asking.

Default Highly reccommend the Spec III clutch and lightweight Flywheel

I just installed this setup on my car in prep for an APR stage III kit.

Break in took about 450 Miles. During break in engagement was a little harsh but now its perfect.

Pedal feel is lighter than stock, the engagement point is closer to stock with a definite engagement point.

The lwfw allows the revs to fall faster between shifts so the engine feels more responsive.

The only downside is that at idle with the car in nuetral and your foot of the clutch there is a slight rattle.

All in all I'm very happy with the setup.

Default I wouldn't use an agressive clutch with the dual mass flywheel

The flywheel is sprung which may be causing the chatter.

Default it's fine with your current setup...no problem.

it's not hard to get used to...and you'll love it cuz you can drive more aggressively without smoking it.

5k dumps! =)

Default The Stock Flywheel is sprung - best to go with a lwfw

<center><img src="http://pictureposter.audiworld.com/32794/sam1.jpg"></center><p>Also,

The lwfw that spec has is made for their clutch so you are guaranteed that it will mate properly and not have any issues (such as the clutch plate springs touching the flywheel).
