its not so much the mileage that the a4iowa is saying its having the car in 5th gear 80% of the time on the highway so no abuse is going on u know what I mean?

Yeah I know what you mean, little stress on the engine or clutch.

I was just surprised at the mileage! In the U.K. the 20K a year I do in the Passat is seen as quite substantial! 40K is quite something!

Four oil change services a year, man!

Default I think there are holes in the bell housing...

You might be able to get a flashlight up in there and see how much material is left.

Default i had to replace mine at 75k...

had been chipped for <30k, and i have no idea how the P.O drove it.

most shops estimated $1200 parts & labor for OEM replacement.

definitely couldn't swing it with the S/C

Default no, i had a shop do it, but...

well, it's complicated... because my extended warranty covered part of it, and i bought a South Bend OFE HD clutch kit with sprung disc and Unorthodox LWFW

The dealer quoted $1200 too... and $2000 with a new FW
