Clutch pressure point -- at what point is clutch engagement expected

my clutch doesn't engage until last millimeter of release in clutch pedal. Is this symptomatic of Audi manuals - it is somewhat annoying, especially since the car only has 42k miles. Can the clutch assembly be adjusted in any way?

it's nothign that can be done to the current clutch. the only way to alter engagement point is by working wiht the pressure plate. the pressure plate has a section which you can alter the focal point. this will determin where the clutch will bite.
but your clutch disk is worn out thats why it's towards the tip. total clutch travel is 3" new so it bites 3" from the tip. thats how far the slave culinder extends out to open the clutch. with a thinner disk less travel is needed thats why it goes higher and higher.
