I have a WOA stage 2 clutch on my car. I broke it in with about 800 around town miles before i played rough with it. I was out the other night launching...according to some people i should be able to drop the clutch at around 4k and have a nice launch. I dropped it...bogged...clutch held i think, no burn smell...i just don't have enough power to spin my 18's.
Anyway, i'm out racing my friend's corrado the other night, all the races were in gear, no launching. We'd start outta 2nd and 3rd gear...make a couple hard shifts and back off. After about 10 runs...i noticed when downshifting into 3rd to slow down, the gears would grind, even though i had the clutch engaged. The car felt pretty shaky like that for a couple days. It got to the point when i'd shift hard into 3rd, it'd grind too. So i took it easy for about a week...car seems a lot more stable now. But i still don't feel comfortable taking it to the track and going all out on that clutch if its the problem. Anyone have any ideas? Thanks.

...if its only happening in 3rd gear, something going on with the synchros? I have no idea how gears/clutch systems actually function, so i'm clueless.

...What to do if it IS a synchro problem? Try to get it covered under warranty? Synchros don't sound too cheap.

and go from there it is common for 1st and 3rd to go out on the O1E trans it's an old problem with the synchros. but it's cheaper to try the bleeding first than the synchros.

but with all your aftermarket parts I'd be surprised if they covered it. Hard shifting like you described can wear out synchros because you aren't really giving them a chance to adequately do their job (which is to match the speed of the gear to that of the engine). So if you shift really hard you are not giving it a chance to match speeds correctly.
