Sorry about the length but I figure the info might be helpful.
The clutch on my ’99.5 A4QT with APR Stage 1 slipped once about 2 months ago while going up a long hill. I backed off and later switched back to OEM program and the car has run fine without issue. Thursday my son came home and mentioned that the clutch had slipped again. I planned to order the clutch and put it in the next couple of weeks. I told him he could drive the car but be cautious not to over exert it if it slipped again. Friday he called be from a parking lot and said when he started out from a light the clutch pedal dropped to the floor, he stopped pulled the clutch up and tried again but as soon as he started to move it happened again. We had car rollbacked to the house and now the clutch pedal seams fine but it’s very had to get in the forward gears and I can’t get it into reverse?
I having problems figuring why it won’t go into gear, I assumed that when the clutch wears out it should be easier not harder to go into gear?
Thinking maybe I need to replace the transmission as well as the clutch.
Anybody have any thoughts
Thanks

Don't quote me but it sounds like the clutch is almost done. I had the same symptoms on one of my previous cars (not an Audi) and when I removed the clutch the disc was in horrible condition.
Keep us posted and good luck.

Well if the pedal fell to the floor the slave rod most likely either jumped out from the fork dimple or the slave itself just popped. If you pull the pedal back up and the pedal feels a little hard the slave is no longer pushing the fork in to release the clutch.
You could start off by pulling the slave out to see if it is broken, if its not you can then reinstall it making sure to get it into the dimple on the fork. Then you will want to bleed it and then check to see if you can get it into gear.

You where right, the old clutch disintegrated and pieces of the clutch got stuck in the flywheel etc. I replaced clutch and its working fine.
Thanks for the feedback.

when I did some spirited shifting there seams to be some shuddering. My son has been driving it lately, and he doesn’t think it's doing it anymore. Maybe it just needed broken in?
