Clutch take up in 2nd gear

I hadn't thought about posting this comment/question until reading an earlier post in regards to the 1st-2nd shift annoyance.
I notice that my clutch take up when shifting from first to second is not as smooth as in the other gear changes. I'm talking strictly about the clutch here and not the feel of the transmission. It basically feels as if the take up is almost all or nothing. Or a different way of looking at it, its as if the first few inches of clutch travel have almost no effect on the 1-2 change. I've learned to compensate for this somewhat but still notice it if I thing about it.
Anyone else?
Peace,

This is usually a symptom of a bad clutch slave cylinder. Your 1-2 clutch engagement occurs relatively quick after you hold and release the clutch for first. The slave cylinder does not have enough time to "recover". This a common problem.
