Clutch Woes

I recently had a strange experience in my 98 28qm. While leaving a stop sign my clutch pedal failed to fully disengage. I quickly pushed the pedal back down and viola it worked. Much to my dismay, however, the smell of burning clutch filled the air. That was Sunday. Today I took my car to the dealer. The smell is still there albeit faint. Is my clutch dying ever so slowly? I'm only at 18000 miles, I've driven manual transmissions my whole life and I've never used up a clutch. Has anyone else had this experience. My driver's seat also seems to rock during right hand turns and stops. The dealer says that its normal play in the seat motors. I say it wasn't there before. I'm soon discovering that Audi builds great driving cars, but they aren't putting them together right. I know I'm whining, but I'm just wondering if anyone else has experienced these problems. My next step is to talk with Audi of America but I feel that will be an exercise in futility as well.

Would recommend they completely flush the brake and hydraulic system, and install completely new fluid. Sounds like you had something clog the master cylinder ports.<p>I just hope you're wrong on Audi durabiliyt; I put 132,000 miles on old Cooupe Quattro, and am hoping for same on Avant 30V.
