coil packs popping out

A few months ago I was driving and suddenly (without prior warning) I hear a very loud tapping noise from the engine (similar to a belt flopping around). I check it out and it turns out to be a loose spark plug and the coil pack was jumping out and hitting against the engine cover. I did the 80k mile service, replaced all of the spark plugs and cleaned the coil packs. Problem solved, so i thought.
A couple of days ago I was getting a stutter in the 2-3.5k rpm range. I did a search and everything seemed to point to the n75 valve or the maf and possibly the coil packs. So I went to my car and checked out the obvious and easy. Two coil packs were popped out and one was beginning to.
Is there anything I can do to prevent this from happening in the future? Is this the common problem with these and should I upgrade them to the revised versions?
