Hello all,
First, today is my car's 5th birthday! Horray!!!
OK, now that that's taken care of, I have a question. It's looking like my H&R coilovers may need new shocks. I'm a bit embarrassed to say I'm not sure all that is required to replace the shocks in this setup.
Does anyone know if the change is as "simple" as removing the coilovers, screwing out the existing shocks and replacing with the new, and then re-installing - or is there more involved? I.e., do I have to send them back to H&R, etc.?
Thanks for any/all help!
Cheers,
Mike

meaning you can't rebuild them. You'll have to contact H&R about having them cover these under warranty. If the shocks are not leaking, but have just lost some of their effectiveness, be clear with H&R about whether this would be a warranty item.
I think what they typically will do is charge you for the new shocks (~$350 each), and once you mail back the old ones, they will inspect it for manufacturing defects. If they find defects, you'll get your money credited. If they don't find any, you just bought 4 new shocks.
If you are not the original purchaser of this suspension, you have NO warranty.
BTW, H&R typically doesn't want to deal directly with the customer. When you call, they will refer you to the dealer where you purchased the suspension. Save yourself some time, and go that route right from the start. If you have an issue, THEN contact H&R directly and go from there.
