Default Coilover recommendations? STFA!

Looking at different setups for my '01 Avant 1.8T... height AND dampening adjustability are musts, because I live out in the sticks and can't avoid going over some semi-rough roads. Bilstein PSS9 looks good because of added rebound adjustability, but also hearing/reading good things about Koni, Vogtland, Stasis, & H&R and those options would save me several hundred bones...

What are you running, and how do you like them? Are the Bilsteins worth the extra cost? TIA.

Default funny you say vogtlands are stiffer... they ride BEAUTIFULLY on the S

maybe the extra weight smooths them out?
