Default coilpack boots

Hi
'99.5 a4 1.8t quattro 5-speed
I think I might have a problem with my coilpack boots, first time after I changed my sparkplugs everything worked fine for a day, the next day I started to have a misfire with CEL on and flashing after full load. Took coilpacks off to check and retorque sparkplugs when I was putting everything back in place I noticed, that my coilpack boots are not sitting tight on sparkplugs, anybody had this problem before, any solutions.
thx.

Default what year is your car

without a VAG it's going to be impossible to judge if it's a coilpack or possibly the ICM/POS if you are nDBW.

Default non Drive by Wire

it means you have a throttle cable, which you do.

An ICM/POS is an Ignition Control Module/ Power Output Stage

It sits on top of the airox with two screws and has a plug that goes to the coilpacks and if it goes bad then cylinder 2 misfires. There is a test for it somewhere that requires a multimeter to see if it's working correctly.

well, before I replaced my plugs everything was ok, today I took my coilpacks off and tried to resit all boots, for about a hour everything was ok, after I left my car parked for 3 hour, everything was back to the same only misfire is not as bad as before and it seems to happen only between 2000 and 3500 rpms.
thx.

Default probably not..

most plugs don't come pre gapped. I would go buy one of those cheap spark plug gap tools for $1 and gap them accordingly. STFA for the correct gap, iirc it's 0.028~0.032 but I could be wrong so double check.
