Default Re: Color

I asked my dealer about that color, and he said it is a $1200 option available only on the A6, S4 and A8.

Default BTW Nancy, it does comein Casablanca White, which is your everyday, non-pearlized white.....

I saw one of those on the dealer's lots.

Default I beg to differ....

My 99.5 Avant is Casablanca White and it's different from "normal" white. It looks "richer", and when I recently parked my car next to a refrigerator white Detroit sedan the difference was far from subtle. I don't know enough about colors to explain it - even "eggshell" doesn't seem to describe it.

Default Sorry...RFP

I am a little confused now. I know the dealer said the white that was on the lot wasn't the pearlized version that used to cost extra money. He said it was discontinued for 2000 on the A4 and cost $1200 for the models I mentioned above. I really didn't look closely at the Casablanca White he had on the lot, as we basically drove past it very fast, so I just assumed it was a "regular" white. I'm sure it isn't, as none of the Audi colors are "regular".

Default Re: I agree

It depends a lot on the lighting how the Casablanca White looks. In bright light it has a much whiter hue to it (although, as sterile as the GM whites), and in the evening sun is takes on a more of a beige/cream color. I've never noticed a white paint that varied in color so widely depending on the lighting. It is a very classy and sophisticated white, in my opinion.

RPF, nice ride. I have a 99.5 Casablanca 2.8 Avant also.

Pretty, isn't it? What color interior do you have?

Default I'm pretty sure you can because...

Dwight Moore (aka DMoore) just took delivery of a pearl '00 S4 and pearl is not a color choice but he special ordered it WITHOUT paying extra. If your dealer won't order it with pearl, check with another dealer, and then go to another. If they don't believe you have them call AoA.

To get in touch with DMoore, do a search in the S4 forum under "pearl" or "white"
