Is the concert Bose system similar to or the same thing as the Symphony Bose system?

Is the concert Bose system similar to or the same thing as the Symphony Bose system?
I just got a good deal on a Peripheral iPod2Car interface to replace my 6 CD changer and it isn't audible when I plug it into the CD changer's port in the rear ( it only charges the iPod). I was told this was because I had an Audi Symphony/Concert system and that a specific adapter would work with the 1998-2004 Audi A4's with that system only it plugged into behind the head unit. Does anyone else have this configuration or info on how to install it or if it will even work? Thanks!
