Default At least my cone is FACING the right direction! :) But...

I DO agree with you on the bent pipe. It's a mandrel bend, but still not the most ideal. My point, however, was that the cone intake, whichever shape it is, should be completely isolated from engine heat. I'm more concerned with heat than ONE bend in the intake tract.

What I'd like to see is AWE's S-Flo intake kit designed for our A4's. Currently, it's only available for the S4. It seals a ITG cone filter completely inside the stock airbox! That's an excellent idea, so much so that Honda does exactly this with their S2000. It comes with a cone intake sealed within an airbox.

Default actually thats what we are doing, as i mentioned in my previous post

we plan to totally separate the engine from the intake area with 1 wall, were just getting the right shape so were prototyping. the rest will just get the spec for the heat shields and cut away in silence
