Default Excellent, thank you!

This contradicts what my dealer told me this morning. Looks like I'll be calling them back. Your post may have saved me the cost of doing it myself. Thank you! I love AW.

Default Damn, not covered.

I thought there were two lower control arms on each of the front wheels, but apparently there's just one. The one behind that is called a link, and is not considered a control arm. My link is bad, not the control arm. Oh well, thanks anyway. At least now I know I have the facts and am not missing out on a free repair.
Take care.

Default Re: Right, it just depends on the condition of your arms as determined by the dealer.

Taking mine in WED to have them checked (140K miles, 2nd owner) - providing the VIN only allows the dealer to see if the inspection was done yet on that car. They will inspect the arms to see if the part# is one that is affected - then I suppose if they are in OK shape, they will leave them alone (?) If they are suspect they will replace them. What "maintenance" records could they possibly want to see that would affect the wear on these parts? Alignment? I have A6 wheels on my car, which I will certainly remove and reinstall my 15" stockers. I'm ready to install my Bilstein Sports and H&R's but there is a horrendous creaking coming from the front suspension and before I tear it apart (already replaced the outer tie rods) I want to see if I can get new lower arms. If the creaking is still there I will replace the uppers on my own dime.

That I don't know and I think it's ambiguous on purpose....gives them plenty of room to make up excuses and reasons why you should be denied. :-/

Default size of tire and/or suspension wont matter...

i have 19s and eibach springs/shocks and had no hassles.

Default Not so fast, you can't make a generalization that it won't matter to ALL dealers.

Because it will to some. Just like some don't care if you have minor mods and try to get warranty work done--others won't touch a car with mods. It just varies from dealer to dealer.
