Default sounds like a busted heater core to me...

ask them how they tested for exhaust gases. The test most likely used will only point them in a certain direction, does not automatically say "blown head gasket".

leak tester

Sounds about right, I don't have access to "Mitchell's" right now.

Default Could it be related to flushing of the coolant?

All of these happened after flushing? What could be the cause?
Gurgling sound under dash?
Then low coolant, and now overheating.

Default The gurgling probably came from the flush...

sounds like they left air in the system.

Default i have 153k on an original set of HGs on my car...

they should not go out ever 40-50k unless you're doing something retarded...

so yeah, not even close to being correct on that one

To Leonic... do a compression test and a leak down test before doing the HG. Make sure there is a drop in pressure... or if it blows air into the coolant system.

The gurgling is air in the system. How many times did you refill the reservoir? There's a chance they're not fully bleeding the system (which if fully drained takes a bit to get all the air out of the system)

If not, are you smelling any burning coolant in the cabin of the car? possible wetness on the floor around the tranny hump under the dash? If that's the case, maybe the heater core went out... just a thought.

Sounds like they didn't bleed it right the first time.

Default They did not bleed the cooling system correctly, it overheated the engine and cracked the head

or blew a head gasket.

Blow head gaskets *WILL NOT MAKE COOLANT MIX WITH OIL*.

They should, but won't take care of the repairs.

I didn't see.. what engine?
