The light flashes when the tank is low or the car is overheating. The floats in the coolant tank reservoir tend to stick after a while. You can buy a replacement for around $39.

Do you know if the floats come with a new coolant reservoir tank or if they are sold separately? I need a new one of each, tank + float. The descriptions on most sites are very vague and don't mention the float or cap.

They also don't last long, make sure you buy one with a new matching cap. Buying them separately is hit and miss with the threads and seal.
