could it be possible to have an abs prob, even though the abs light doesn't go on?

Default well there are 84k miles on it its a 2001

i beleive my ps pump is going b/c fluid is full, no leaks, and only when i turn the wheel ... ya know under load it starts to moan. at first it was going and comming back and forth. now its always there.

but anyways aside from that ... when i break the pedal and the car begin to vibrate back and forth. but i dont think its the actual brake wear because all of a sudden it began doing it. It didn't slowly become bad like brakes usually do. So someone told me they thought it may be the abs module, what do you guys think?

Default do you hear the noise of abs engaging?

maybe you warped a rotor somehow.

Maybe you will get lucky and it will only be a bad or dirty sensor

Default When ABS engages you'll feel the brake pedal pulsating. What you're describing sounds more like a

warped rotor(s).
If you still want to eliminate ABS as a culprit - VAG the car. If there are no ABS related codes and no problems communicating with the ABS module, then your problem is not ABS related.

Default That's not entirely true. When one of my sensors went bad

I was getting all the flashing lights on the dash, abs was kicking in when it wasn't supposed to, and there was never a code. Had it scanned atleast twice before the bad sensor was located.
