could some please explain the term rice (its origin, etc.)

First of all, i would have to say that 01A4 is correct on this issue, having my most of my background in tuning the "so" called rice vehicles. It exactly has to do with what 01A4 pointed out. However, the term ricerocket did come from motorcycles. Any bike that was not of "Harley breed" was considered a ricerocket, due to the style of the bike. It did'nt really matter where the bike came from, it was just a term used since the bikes were made to run like rockets and not cruise around on like harleys, indian bikes, etc etc. Granted there are harleys on the race circuit now. So those would also be considered ricerockets--of course to a certain type of crowd.
