by the door lock or by the door trim?
if it's held by the lock I guess the whole thing has to be replaced, but I don't think the rear door has anything there, does it?
I have never parked my car in Newark or Elizabeth prior to this. I just didn't think before going into Elizabeth.

thanks Raj.
I know what you mean about the people talking about it being 99.5+, but looking at the rear and front handle trim, it sure looks like the same part.
It would be a damned shame if your car got stolen, considering how good shape it's in. Maybe borrow Alex's Disklok for the trip?

yup, that's the good part...
... the dumb ****s were too stupid to do any worse damage. I guess I've got to look on the bright side, right? I was showing my girlfriend pictures of "proper" thefts and yours came up in a search. I know you've been here before, thanks Ant.

I just wasn't thinking.
My girlfriend and I drove to the outlets in Flemington and got there 15 minutes after everything closed (I'd seen Jersey Gardens was open until 9 and not realized Flemington closes by 6). I figured since we were already on the road, why not drive over to Jersey Gardens. I didn't even stop to think about it being smack in the middle of the "danger zone". I guess I got complacent. So anyone reading this, don't take this stuff for granted. A4 or S4, it can happen to you too.
I'm thinking very strongly about using Ferrarra's. I would strongly consider C&D also as I had a very positive experience with Matt before, but they are well out of the way now that my client has changed offices. I have to see if I can get out of this with just the door trim or if there's more extensive fixing that needs to be done.
