Default A couple of pics of my '96- because not so much is going on it seems

The B5 A4 community seems to be slowly fading away, but my '96 2.8 still does its job every day. More than 235K miles, on the OE engine and ZF trans, with no drips or leaks. It goes to the 6,200 shift point at WOT several times a day, with no problems. I've owned several Audis and this is the first one that keeps the garage floor dry. Here's a couple of photos for anyone who appreciates the old 12-valver A4s.

Well, you are talking about a vehicle that is almost as old as my youngest kid. He's 36. HAH! Okay, not quite but still an 18 year old car that is still a daily driver and oft times at WOT is pretty good. Some engines are just plain bomb proof. Congrats. I appreciate the photos for sure. I look at my 14 year old A4 and think, "man that's a pretty good looking ride".

Ab-so-lute-ly.

And I remember those heady days from '99 - '04 when the traffic on here was off the chart. Glad to see so many B5s still running.

Yeah me too. I just can't see the upside to a $400 to $500 per month car payment especially when my sweet little A4 set me back a whopping $3500. What's that 7 months of a new ride? Not gonna happen.

I love your wheels, I thought for years about getting a set of Celebrations for mine but it never happened. I do check ebay from time to time.

Thanks yamato72, me too. They were on it when I bought it. They are nice aren't they? A biotch to keep clean but it's the price I pay to look good.

Still driving my '99 A4 after picking it up in '01 and just recently passed 100K miles. I always said I'd drive it until the doors fell off, then I'd put the doors back on and drive it some more.:-) I don't plan to trade it in any time soon since I haven't had a car payment in over 8 years and actually enjoy wrenching on it to keeping it going. By this point I've learned the car inside and out. It's an early '99 and it has most of the '99.5 facelift updates - the interior is completely new ('01 heated, power seats, center console, wood trim, etc.), the tail lights have been updated and just yesterday, I picked up a nice set of one-piece headlights at the salvage yard.

I went to the Audi dealership a few weeks ago to get some parts and looked at the new models and while they look good, I don't feel the updates over the years are leaps and bounds better than this car, at least not enough to justify a huge car payment. My car has heated seats, it plays my iPod/iPhone, gets 21 - 26 mpg, it's a tank in the snow and it still looks great!

Hoping for several more years with this car.
