Default Cracked Instrument Cluster

My clear plastic instrument cluster window has developed a small crack due to the cold I think.

Is this something that is easy to take out and replace?

Default Its all one piece...

The lens is not separate... the entire cluster is sold as a unit...

look for one in a junkyard or buy a new one...

Default If you are under warranty, have your dealer replace the entire cluster...

... I just had mine replaced but due to fading trip computer display.

Default I have done this...........

I pulled mine off once so I could put a "S" logo on my tachometer (very trick!). It's not real easy, but it can be done. Just lots of little tabs that you have to work off. Once you pull out the cluster, you will see all the tabs.

BUT, I dont' know if you can get that part from your dealer as a separate part, of if they will make you buy a whole new $800 cluster. If that is the case, dont' worry. I have an extra cluster that I just sold to someone here on the forums (haven't mailed it yet), and they want it for other parts. I can put you in touch with the person who I am selling it to, and he might sell you the plastic cover since he may not need it.

Ok - I am a novice

Is it easy to get to the cluster? Does the whole dash have to come out?

Default Not too hard......

Where the steering column meets the dash, there is a part that pops off, that exposes 2 screws at the base of the cluster that holds it into place. Remove those 2 screws, and the cluster is free. Pull it out and reach behind it to unplug all the wires behind it. Then it's free!

How long did it take? I have been waiting since the middle of October, and still on back order!

Default Part took a week but its Canadian (km/h)...

... your part might actually be on back order. Thats too bad about the wait but at least you'll have your new one later in your warranty period.
