Before I go out and spend money, can it be the shocks too? I'm running the stock non-sport shocks with h&r sport springs. Would that make a creaking noise if they were going bad or something else?

Also, they already did the recall for the lower control arms on my car and said they were fine about 2 months ago. I take it its only a 1 time thing? What if they go bad after they look at the recall?

you have a 97 and if the lower fronts were only changed..the uppers are probably worn by now as well. I have a 97 and all mine are toasted! I just turn the music up so I don't go crazy. But, I will be changing all that out in the next month or so. I doubt it is the shocks..but they need to be checked at the same time. Pay close attention to the upper shock mount on those..they are known to fatique. I am gonna replace those mounts either way when I change out all the control arms. Generally, a creaking noise from the front is the lower control arm bushing at the lower shock mount. But..heck you never know till you get in there and investigate.
