Well Seems like I am just loaded with small problems... One of which has to be the cruise control.
I got the car from my friend and he took the fuse out already. I dont know why he did that but he said something was wrong with the cruise control already
Well... Cruise control actually worked a few times w/o the fuse... strange??
Also it had been down for like 2 months but I read about clicking 100 times method
Walla.. It worked once after that 100 clicks
Now it doesnt work again
I am not in any hurry but I want to have it back before thanksgiving since I am planning on driving 1000 miles w/ this car and w/o the cruise control it might be a bit more tiring.

First step, alway give the car's year and engine, plus any other details that pertain to your question.
On mine (a '96) fuse S13 powers the cruise control circuit. But lots more than a fuse will cause these to malfunction. Some causes (besides dirty or corroded contacts in the stalk switch) are: split rubber actuator diaphragm, broken rubber vacuum hoses, clutch or brake switches, electrical connections (no vehicle speed signal to the control module for instance) or a faulty control module. These control modules are often the problem, and some people report fixing them by resoldering the three red capacitors on the PCB. Before I heard about that one, I bought a used module and diaphragm out of an A6 and it works fine.

Not sure the conditions under which it stopped working ... but mine (1997 A4 2.8) was not working either (long time ago). When I had tried to engage it I could hear the control module click, so I did not think it was that. After searching I found the vacuum line disconnected. Before I started doing the work on the car myself - the mechanic must have pulled it off. I reconnected and all is good. So I would check that too - if you have not already.
