Default CURRENT Money Factor & Residual Info.

I am in the process of leasing an A4 (once I solve the 1.8T vs. 2.8 dilemna!)and have a question on money factors & residuals. I searched the archives and found others buying leases with money factors around .00305 and residuals in the neighborhood of .63/.62 (36/39 months). After visiting the dealer yesterday I have come up with the following:

2.8Q 58% residual, .0035 mf on a 36 month lease
2.8Q 56% residual, .0035 mf on a 39 month lease

The dealer did say that the residuals are 2-3% higher for a 1.8T.

The residual seems low and the money factor seems high to me. Have leases changed that much in the last few weeks (the archive posts were recent)? Why the difference in residual between 1.8T & 2.8? Have others written their lease through Audi or is there a better offer from a third party bank?

Thanks for the information,
Lance Doyle

Just leased a 2000 A4 1.8T on Saturday Jan 15. 36 Month (Don't lease out of the warranty period!!!!!!) Residual 62% money factor .0039 (ouch wifes credit has 2 very very minor dings from over 4 years ago) Lease is through dealer, I suspect we could have done slightly better though second party.

Jeremy, a money factor of .0039 equates to a 9.36% interest rate (using the multiplier of 2400). That's a little steep.

I know they would not budge on it with a couple of minor credit report issues from a few years ago. 2 late payments.

Default It's not just your credit history ...

it's whether the F&I guy gives a sh*t and is willing to shop for rates. I've leased two new Audis at the same dealer and they only use Chase. Lousy junk fees and all, take it or leave it. Yikes.

That is pretty much the same impression I got with my finance guy. Take it or leave it. I tried for a while to get him to give us a better rate to no avail. He claims his hands are tied. You can email me if you want to discuss further.
