Custom exhaust and Borla muffler question??

Custom exhaust and Borla muffler question??
A friend is getting a G2 Borla muffler for his S4. He said that I could have the old Borla muffler. It has a 3 inch pipe coming out of it and I was wondering how to install this on my avant.
Do you guys see any problem with running 2.5 inch custom pipes from the cat back and taking the mid-muffler (suit-case) out? Then running the 2.5 inch pipes to the Borla?
What do you think that would sound like, and would it produce a CEL or DTC?
Just pondering my options for a cheap custom exhaust.

Exactly, cat-back you should have no worries....only what it will sound like :-)
It might be a little loud if you remove the resonator, you might consider putting in an aftermarket resonator along with the rear Borla muffler. Good luck
