CV Joint installation

CV Joint installation
New to this but a couple of things I found in addition to the tech articles on CV joint removal and installation.
1 Removal - using the axle bolt to pop the joint off - the bolt may be too short, so use a long socket to place in the hole first. Works like a charm.
2 Installation - use the old axle bolt and thread it half way in. You can pound on the end of that with a regular BFH instead of using a plastic mallet.

Interesting. I tried the socket trick, but it fell in the joint! =) Must be it wasn't long enough.
I also use a BFH on the end of the joint, I don't' think you'll cause damage to the splines, unless you miss. =D
