Default cv joints???

so i guess the boot on my CV joints broke on the front two wheels...

i took it to the dealership (first mistake) and they said they wanted to replace everything for $1100. but these guys are notorious for rippin ppl off.

the thing thats wrong is the boot cracked and theres no grease getting in the joint anymore.. cant i just fix that myself??

any help would be appreciated, thanks

Default I bought a set of axles from raxles.com when my cv joints went out...

Fairly cheap, $175 ea, and installed them myself. Lifetime warranty, too.

Default Do you also need to purchase an inner & outer boot? Or is that supplied?

Thanks...

Default What do bad CV joints feel like? Sound? I'm having trouble discerning

a low pitch gringing sound that does not vary while turning left or right, so it doesn't feel like wheel bearings. I also put the car up on jacks and pushed/pulled to see if my wheel bearings were the culprit... but it feels solid... no wiggle.

Thanks,

If you don't touch the TRE, you don't have to.

Bad CV joint = 'click-click' during tight turns.
