Default Cylinder 1 misfire. Going to start with the ignition coils...

Just to make sure that i'm playing " Musical Coils" correctly, from what I understand from searching is that I simply switch the coil to another cylinder, erase the codes, drive the car (probably feel the misfire again), then read the codes. If the misfire stays on cylinder one, it is most likely the plug. I was wondering if it matters which cylinder i switch the coil to.. 2, 3 or 4. Any other suggestions would be greatly appreciated...
Thanks in advance.

Default

so long as cylinder 1 is the only misfire, any other cylinder will do

Default If it was a misfire on #2 cylinder it would almost certainly be the ignition control module

BUT if you have an aftermarket ICM (Hugo) it faults w/ a cylinder #1 or Cylinder #3 misfire normally.
